The anniversary chase is getting bigger, but a reveal is not a price guide. Pokémon’s latest 30th Celebration reveal wave includes Special Illustration Rares of Sylveon ex and Salamence ex, alongside new Illustration Rares. PokéBeach’s September 4 report was expanded as more artwork appeared. With products beginning to release September 16, the practical question is which exact printing belongs on your list.

What the New Reveal Wave Adds

PokéBeach’s original report identified Morpeko and Maushold Illustration Rares, then added Alolan Exeggutor, Moltres, and Toxtricity, plus Special Illustration Rares of Fuecoco ex, Sylveon ex, and Salamence ex. Portal TCG’s September 6 follow-up also reports Greninja ex and Jirachi ex Special Illustration Rares. These are artwork reveals, not verified pull-rate figures or completed-sale prices.

The official Japanese anniversary gallery is the first-party reference for the Japanese product and the cards currently displayed there. Regional galleries and announcements can update at different times. A card pictured in one language should not be assigned another language’s collector number from memory.

Pick the Printing, Not Just the Pokémon

“Sylveon ex” is a character-and-card name, not a complete purchase specification. Before saving a listing, record its set, language, collector number, rarity, and artwork. That small habit matters most when a set has multiple versions of familiar Pokémon and product promos circulating alongside pack cards.

The same distinction applies to “rare.” An Illustration Rare, a Special Illustration Rare, and a promotional card describe different things. An exciting illustration does not supply missing information about distribution. If a seller’s picture and written description disagree, resolve that before buying.

Our 30th Celebration hub owns the full product and date overview. The 30-Pikachu tracker owns that separate subset. This page follows the new non-Pikachu art reveal wave, so you do not need to sift through another copy of the whole launch calendar.

What We Would Put on a Collector’s Shortlist

Start with three columns in a private note, not a shopping cart: artwork you love, exact version confirmed, and a personal price ceiling. Leave the last one unset if you have not seen enough information. You can enjoy a reveal without committing to a preorder.

For a character collection, the art may be the point. For a set binder, numbering and language consistency may matter more. Those are different collecting goals, and neither requires every new card. A good shortlist gets smaller as it becomes more specific.

No price ladder is established by these announcements. Asking prices, estimates, and social excitement do not prove what buyers will pay after normal supply arrives. Nor do they tell us whether a particular illustration will be easy to obtain. We are not assigning a future winner or publishing leaked pull rates.

Where to Go From Here

Save the official gallery, compare exact printings, and give the new artwork room to settle before treating it as a shopping instruction. If the reveal has you in the mood to browse physical cards, the Polkastarter marketplace shows the contents, values, and chances in each Lootbox before opening, with a free mystery pack at signup. Check the current catalog rather than assuming the newly revealed anniversary cards are already available.
